About

Lizzy Bishop, MAEd, LPCC

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor providing mental health counseling virtually in the state of Ohio and Minnesota, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate whatever life’s throwing your way. I specialize in working with those have spent their entire lives being the strong one — especially helpers, first responders, and high-functioning adults who are exhausted inside.

My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), EMDRand person-centered techniques—always tailored to fit you. I am also trained in CBT-I which is the gold standard treatment for insomnia. I believe in a holistic and individualistic approach, and I do my best to meet people exactly where they are. Together, we’ll work toward creating a life that feels meaningful, manageable, and uniquely yours.

I earned my MAEd in Clinical Counseling from Malone University, and I've been honored to support many individuals through their personal journeys of growth and healing.

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time in my garden, being out in nature, hiking, reading, and hanging out with my pets. (They’re usually the best listeners, right?)

If you’re ready to start your journey—or
even just curious about what that might look
like—I’d love to connect.

Trauma therapy for people who have always been the “strong one” — helpers, first responders, and high-functioning adults who are exhausted inside.

Holding Everything Together Is Starting To Take a Toll

You’ve spent years being the reliable one — the one who steps in, keeps calm, and pushes through no matter what. On the outside, you look steady. On the inside, you feel:

  • Exhausted

  • Numb or irritable

  • Overstimulated

  • Disconnected from yourself

  • Like you’re holding too much

  • Afraid that if you stop, everything will fall apart

Maybe the trauma is old. Maybe it’s recent. Maybe it’s the accumulation of years of stress in a high-pressure role.

Whatever brought you here — you don’t have to carry this alone anymore.

You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve help.

You’re in the Right Place If You Are:

A first responder
carrying the weight of what you’ve seen, managing hypervigilance, or struggling to turn off “work mode.”

A helper or healer
(nurse, teacher, therapist, social worker, caregiver)
who feels burned out, compassion-fatigued, or emotionally overloaded.

A high-functioning adult
holding everything together on the outside while falling apart privately.

Someone who’s always been the “strong one”
and never had the space to fall apart or feel supported.

Step 2 – Intake + Game Plan
We identify what’s weighing on you and what you want to feel instead.

Step 4 – Rebuilding Your Self
Learn boundaries, reconnect with who you are, and create a life where you don’t have to be in survival mode.

You don’t have to be the strong one here. This is your space to slow down, breathe, and finally feel supported.
